A few days ago, I was browsing various conversations and stumbled into a discussion about the Lore24 hashtag. It's a challenge, not unlike Lexember or my own self-inflicted chapter a week, but with this one, I would have to post a little bit of world-building every day in 2024. Given that I've been struggling to get back on the writing train for the last few years, I thought I would give it a try until I fail.
For my first entry, I figured I'd go off one of the big topics related to Flight of the Scions: Telepathy.
Telepathy has always been one of those “fun” aspects of magic. There are many ways of dealing with telepathy, such as how it works, but I decided to go with a system I understand well: computer networking.
In most cases, the ideas of telepathy can be translated into REST or RPC calls, protocols, and specifications. In the Isle of Vo, there are also RFCs (request for comments), pull requests, and ADRs (architecture decision records) that function as part of society. I'm hoping to get to more of those in the next few days.
